Project Background

The client specializes in industrial IoT device development and required a compact, interface-rich, thermally efficient custom aluminum enclosure for their 4G gateway PCB. The enclosure needed to support wall-mount or rack-mount installation for deployment in cabinet or fixed-wall scenarios.

 


Product Highlights

① Precision CNC Machining — Accurate Interface Layout The front panel features multiple functional cutouts: USB port, Micro SIM card slot, TF card slot, dual SMA antenna connectors (4G / BT/WiFi), RESET button, BOOT switch area, and POW/RUN/4G tri-color LED indicator windows. All openings are machined with tolerances within ±0.1mm to ensure zero-interference assembly.

② Side Heat Dissipation Fin Design The right-side panel features parallel heat dissipation fins formed through aluminum extrusion, significantly increasing the effective heat dissipation surface area. This ensures stable operating temperatures during prolonged high-load usage, extending the lifespan of the internal PCB.

③ Black Sandblast Anodizing Surface Treatment The enclosure undergoes sandblasting followed by black anodizing treatment, producing a uniform matte finish with excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

The standard anodizing process includes:

  • Incoming material inspection
  • Degreasing & cleaning
  • Alkaline etching
  • De-smutting
  • Anodizing
  • Coloring (optional)
  • Sealing 

Quality control benchmarks:

  • Film thickness: 10–15 μm (decorative) / 18–25 μm (outdoor/corrosion-resistant) 
  • Color uniformity: ΔE ≤ 1.0 
  • Adhesion: Grade 0–1 (ISO 2409) 
  • Salt spray resistance: ≥ 336h (ASTM B117) 

④ Laser Engraving — Permanent Interface Labeling All interface labels on the front panel (USB, SIM Card, TF Card, BT/Wifi, RESET, BOOT, POW, RUN, 4G) are applied using laser engraving/marking technology, ensuring clear, permanent, and wear-resistant identification.

⑤ Integrated Wall-Mount Brackets Both sides feature elongated keyhole mounting ears, supporting screw-fixed installation on walls, DIN rail panels, or equipment frames — meeting diverse industrial deployment needs.
